South Metro League Fall Ball Slowpitch Softball league starts August 26th through October 7th. (Labor Day weekend will be a non-scheduled date). Games will be held Saturdays mid-morning to early afternoon located at Sue Fisher Fields and or Alimagnet Fields, Burnsville, MN with double header play each Saturday.  Age range for each division will be players in current school year 2023-24 of grades 3-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Team formations will be based on participation levels, regions of the South Metro and requests. Players can also create their own full or partial team. Registration fee is $60.00 for the Fall Ball League that includes a South Metro League jersey. 

 

• Fall Ball is open to ALL South Metro League players. Teams will be formed from the registrations at each division and team requests.

• Head protective gear required for 2023 Fall Ball season (softball fielding type face-mask)

• Batting helmet strongly recommended (one will be assigned for the season if a player does not have one)

For the 2022 Slowpitch Softball season the South Metro League would like to offer all players the
extended opportunity to tryout and play on a South Metro League Tournament Team. The team would be in addition to each players regular South Metro League city team with additional practices and weekend competitive slowpitch travel tournaments.

Travel Tournament Team Levels: 12u, 14u, 16u, 19u
South Metro League Tournament Team: Cost: $90
Try-out Fee: $20 (applied towards your tournament team fee)
 

2022 Travel Tournaments:
June 11-12   Richfield Invitational, Richfield, MN
June 25-26   Golden Valley Invitational, Golden Valley, MN
July 16-17        Midwest Invitational, Burnsville, MN
July 30-31    USSSA State Tournament, Burnsville, MN

Description:
Tournament teams are additional softball opportunity for those players who are looking for extended tournament play at a next step of competitive play against teams from out-side the South Metro League including the Midwest region of the U.S. These Travel Tournament Team opportunities are in addition to each players regular South Metro League team game/practice schedules. This would be 4-additonal tournaments that will be required of a travel tournament team player with additional practice time. Level opportunities that will be offered will be 12u, 14u, 16u & 19u (level is determined by age as of Dec. 31 of current registration year).

Note:
The South Metro League Tournament Teams are in-addition to a players regular season team.
Players will be required to practice and play games for each players regular season team throughout the 2022 season. Tournament team opportunities are in addition to the regular season commitments.

2022 is here and the 2022 softball season has officially begun! We kick off our first Winter clinics this Sunday 1/16 for players in grade K through 4th grade. Players in grade 6th through 12 grade will join in the clinics starting January 23th!

 

Be sure to bring a friend, winter clinics are open to all skill levels and encuraged for players interested in trying softball for the firtst time!

Fall Ball Concessions Help

South Metro League Families,

We Need Your Help!

We are looking for parents and players to help run concessions for the 2021 Fall Ball season.

The time commitment will only be 1 hour and you can coordinate with your daughter's game schedule as the season schedule is posted on the registration website.  We are asking for each intermediate and senior team to volunteer a total of 5 hours for the entire Fall Ball season.  That's only 5 one-hour shifts per team.  This volunteer call goes out to all teams in the South Metro League.  Anybody, aged 14+ is weclome to help volunteer.  

Helping with concessions is super easy! 

Please find a time slot that works for you below and serve up some walking tacos, hot dogs, water, pop or chips to our great softball families! We ask that you include your division (intermediate or senior) and coach's name in the comment section during sign-up.

All that is needed is your glove and tennis/turf shoes 

 

When arriving find us at our registration table in the front lobby.
Be sure to indicate BAC Slowpitch Softball at the registration table.

Clinics will be located on the field in the very back of the dome.

South Metro League Girls Slowpitch Softball Divisions:
 
Mites
Grades: K-2 (grade 2 players first year softball experience)
Game day: Games will be played Wednesdays during the season.

Squirts
Grades: 2-4 (grade 2 players who have had previous softball experience)
Game day: Games will be played Tuesdays during the season.

Intermediates
Grades: 5-7
Game day: Games will be played Thursdays during the season.

Seniors
Grades: 8-12
Game day: Games will be played Mondays during the season.

2020 Season Dates:

Travel Tournament Team tryouts Late April (TBD) 7th
 

Practice Start date:  Mid April depending on weather and fields

Season Start Date: Week of May 11th

South Metro League Mid-Season Tournament June 6-7, Ponds Fields, Prior Lake

Season Championship Weekend: July 18-19, Loc Lavon Fields, Burnsville

     Late April, TBD

 

 

Tournament Travel Teams:  12u, 14u, 16u 
Tryouts for the 2019 Tournament Travel teams will be late April.  Tournament Travel Teams are additional playing opportunities for our South Meyro League Slowpitch Softball players. These teams will be in addition to each players regular season team and will play an additional 4-5 travel tournamanets throughout the summer and will require additional practices for these travel teams outside of a player regular season team. Highly recommended attending the last dome clinics in preperation of tryouts late April.
